 A Mother's Wage

Deep blue pools of trust gazing up at me,

a sacred moment, sealed in time, for all eternity.

To some it may seem bothersome, but it's not at all me.

For loving fingers grasp my hand,

happy giggles fill our home.

There is joy within my soul that money cannot buy.

And though the world may tell me, I'm wrong to stop and play,

I'm making some memories for a rainy day.

For little ones grow up we know, all too fast, it's true.

So children dear, I'll gladly spend the time I have with you.
