Why I Love Being a Housewife

Though the words "House Wife" have a negative connotation in today's society there is nothing that I love more. I guess there is something about waking up to the smell of freshly washed sheets and the sound of my husband in the shower, knowing that I don't have to go anywhere, I get to stay home. On these days that are growing colder I get to whisk my husband off into the cold while I stay nice and warm in the place I am most comfortable- home.

I get to watch my kids grow and change and appreciate their every little stage of life, and most of all I have the time to do things right. I feel that staying home has given me the time it takes to build a home, a comfy place to fall at the end of the day, a place that my children will remember when they are older and long for those childhood days, a place where we can grow our family. I love being a housewife but I feel that I am more, I am a homemaker,  and  fulfilling my purpose, I am exactly where Heavenly Father wants me, and someday my children will look back and remember that I was always there to comfort them when they were sick or scared, and to share in their joys and accomplishments. I once saw a TV commercial with a dad pushing his son in a swing, both laughing, then the words on the screen read "They pay more for overtime because they know what you are missing." I refuse to trade away these most precious moments of my life.
