Mother's Day is a chance to celebrate our moms, but mom is such a special person that we should really need no out-of-the-ordinary occasion to stop and think about her contribution to our life.

Deep blue pools of trust gazing up at me,

While feverishly ripping off the Christmas wrapping, the young granddaughter, had visions of a pink doll car convertible, circled in the Sears Christmas catalog months earlier.  With wrapping paper scattered about, an unexpected gift was revealed, a pillow.

A few months before I was born, my dad met a stranger who

Though the words "House Wife" have a negative connotation in today's society there is nothing that I love more. I guess there is something about waking up to the smell of freshly washed sheets and the sound of my husband in the shower, knowing that I don't have to go anywhere, I get to stay home.

I grew up in the 40s/50s with practical parents. A mother, God love her, who washed aluminum foil after she cooked in it, then reused it. She was the original recycle queen, before they had a Name for it.  A father who was happier getting old shoes fixed than buying new ones.

Do you feel that you are caught in a rut?  Sometimes we housewives feel like everyday is the same.  You spend so much energy doing everyday duties that pile up and need to be done the next day and the next.  A person can really lose themselves in just living everyday life.
