Basically, our food storage money comes out of our money budgeted for groceries, with a few additions. I wanted to get the basics in in a year’s time and go on to extended storage. So I was in a hurry to get it done in the time I allotted myself. These are the other sources I used:

Project Noah is a year long food storage and emergency preparedness program. It is designed to help you set and obtain goals in the area of family preparedness. This is a suggested food and emergency kit schedule for one year --- starting with basic supply then emergency and finally expanded basic food supply...

Not all family's roots are planted long term.  Some people are highly mobile people.  For instance, Military Families, school students or other special family circumstances may find it difficult to store or even collect a year's supply of food storage. 

I thought I would share some ideas on food storage, since it is such a vital part of living providently.

This program included appropriate graphics and calendars. (You get to figure those out!) There apparently was also a yellow section that had miscellaneous information about storage and preparedness items. I don’t have it. On the back of each monthly page was a chart for the sisters to complete that was something like:

A good amount of water to have stored is a minimum of 14 gallons of water - which is a gallon a day for drinking and cooking per person. That did not count extra water that would be used for washing hands, dishes, bathing, etc.

"I do know that if we go forward...and follow the admonitions given, to put something in the cellar store place that we have against a rainy day, we may be blessed."
