Natural and Herbal Remedies

Bladder or Kidney Infections?

Save your cherry stems!!  Take water and bring to a boil, turn off and add stems and let it steep for 10 minutes, then drink it.

Headaches?

Drink: 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar w/mother in it

2 ounces distilled water (great value at Wal-mart)

2 tablespoons of honey

Have Arthritis?  Just add 2 large cloves of garlic to the above headache mix and drink and if small cloves of garlic 3 to 6 of them.

Love Sweet Potatoes?  Try the following for a new taste: 1 tablespoon of orange juice concentrate (do not dilute), after cleaning the potato, and split potato open and put it in and wrap in foil and bake for allotted time (depends on ovens), or do the same thing, clean and split sweet potato and add butter and cinnamon and wrap in foil and bake.  Yummy is the thought of the day.

Try grape seed oil (Italian), from the Health food stores, with your vinegar (apple cider type with mother in it), and put over your salad.  It is so good.

Allergic to milk?  How about sesame seed milk, or roasted unsalted (or salted), peanut milk, or maybe rice milk.

Try foreign chocolate candy instead of American candy, it has more nutrients in than our chocolate.

How about a nice change for breakfast?  Chop up a large granny smith apple (after washing it), in the blender and add to plain oatmeal instead of sugar or other toppings.  Tastes really good.

Did you scald or burn yourself?  A quick remedy-- grab an egg from the refrigerator and break it open and put only the egg white on the burn, an hour later no one can tell you had a bad burn.

To get onion smell off your hands?  Wet hands and rub table salt and wring hands like you were putting lotion on them.  Rinse and wipe.

Want to get garlic or onion off your breath?  Eat fresh parsley.

You are What You Eat

I was six going on seven, jumping up and down in the lunch line trying to glimpse the day’s food choices, when I spotted a poster. In the center of the cafeteria bulletin board its bold red lettering got right to the point: “You Are What You Eat!” Below the words, cartoon fruits and vegetables were crowded into the figure of a boy.
