Pelvic Bone Physical Therapy

I am one of the many pregnant women who have suffered from pelvic bone pain.  It comes from the relaxin hormone working (really) well to relax the pelvic bone.  I have scoliosis of the spine with exacerbates it.   The pain is felt in the front, but it seems mostly in my lower back- around my tailbone area.  It can be excruciating.  It seems to be worse at night when I'm trying to roll over in bed, or when getting up from a sitting position and many times when walking or after shopping.  I have talked to doctors and while they felt sympathy they had no real solutions for me.  They would give me silly little raise your feet exercises that did nothing.    While pregnant with my second daughter I almost had complete separation of the pelvic bone.  I did experience a complete separation after the birth of my fifth child.  I could not walk or climb stairs for several weeks.  My husband would have to carry me to the bathroom.  While this was an extreme case, I just wanted to illustrate that it is a miserable condition and there is a temporary relief for it.

Suffering with the pain during my third pregnancy I did some research through natural healing books and websites.  I came across this pelvic bone physical therapy that I have used for 4 pregnancies now.  It has helped tremendously to put my pelvic bone back into placement- temporarily- and is safe during your pregnancy.  It has given me tons of relief.

Therapy:

You lay flat on your back.  Have your partner pick up your right leg and place it over the left leg by the knee.  You leg should be over the knee and resting on the floor.

Your partner then holds down your right shoulder to the floor, while pushing your right knee all the way too the other side of the floor.  Hold it down for a few seconds.  Then he should lift it gently back up and put it back on the floor.   Do the other side the same way.

I also had the excruciating pelvic pain you describe. I did an online search and found a page that advised chiropractic would ease the pain. I made an appointment and had my pelvic bone adjusted and within hours I was walking straighter, and within three days I could actually get on my side without excruciating pain! I was skeptical at first, but now I am a believer! it helped so much.

I did forget to mention this.  I went to a chiropractor after my fourth child. It helped tremendously!  It was an unfortunate thing that I had no access to a chiropractor with my fifth baby since I was living in Germany at the time.

An Enjoyable Bed Rest

By Aine Schulmire

Many women have been put on bed rest for different reasons.  Most commonly, it's used to help babies stay in the mother's womb for a prolonged period of time to ensure that the baby develops to a stage that it can sustain it's own life before entering into the world. ....
