• select a date &time (this could help determine location of event and food)

• select a theme

• prepare guest list with phone numbers

• book location, if necessary

3 Weeks Before Event

• shop for supplies

• determine exact games/activities and timing limits

• prepare invitations  

• plan menu

2 Weeks Before Event

• send out invitations

• order cake with bakery or plan what to bake

• prepare your itinerary

• assemble goodie bags

1 Week Before Event

• call guests that have not RSVP’d

• confirm all bookings/arrangements

• prepare grocery list

2 Days Before Event

• shop for party food

• insure camera has film and batteries & camcorder charged

• check weather –  plan "B"

• start household cleaning if party is at home

Day Before Event

• if outdoors – clean yard, entrance, trash can ready

• clean indoors – someone always need to use the bathroom

• prepare any food that can be made ahead of time

• start decorating – balloons last

Party Day

• finish preparing all food and beverages

• pick up cake

• setup table and chairs

• outside decorations
