Our Stake has asked us to have a Food Storage Seminar in February.  Those who have husbands are supposed to bring them.

I was having a hard time getting excited about this topic since January's Enrichment is a "Neighborhood Disaster Drill" (also requested by our Stake leaders) and is actually under the direction of our Emergency Preparedness person.

In an effort to add some fun and creativity...I decided to entitle the evening  "Food Storage Romance...Falling in Love with your food storage."

We will have 3 classes...

1. Storing the food you love and loving the food you store.

This class will giving ideas on how to rotate your food and make it fit in to everyday lifestyle.  Ideas for storing food that you like for the picky eater.

2. Store Decor Galore

This class will have clever ideas to decorate with your food storage without detection.

3. Be my "Blendertime"

This class will be a demo on wheat blender pancakes, homemade blender mayonnaise and a smoothie of some sort. 

The table will be set out in a romantic display with dry pack apples in candy dishes.

I plan to have the food committee members assigned one food storage recipe each to make and bring for our tasters table. 

We will include a violin in the background during dinner and a song to be sung to the tune of Love Me tender with words about food storage and possibly a poem recitation...Roses are red, violets are blue...but you can't eat them when disaster hits you...
