Food storage decorating

This article also includes food storage.  First some good quotes to think about and to help you when you start inventing some new ideas with your home.

A place for everything and everything in its place.

Inventions come from a need.

Don't Buy it; invent it!

Utilize every inch of space.

The object is to walk into a room and not see a box, but to see the room.

Never store anything empty.

Underneath beds

-Ideas

Always look around your house or apartment for wasted space.

Use a laundry hamper for shoes. (this works well, when I finally got my husband to agree.)

When storing things in a box that is not clear, hand a ribbon out of the box with the inventory written on it.

Inventory every box.

Put like things together.

-Use cardboard boxes

Decorate the boxes with things such as...

Gift wrapping paper, cards, etc.

Fabric coordinating with bedspreads, curtains, etc.

Paint with spray paint (this makes the box more sturdy) as a base. Then sponge shapes and things on it.

Put magazine pictures of what is inside the box. Protect them with clear contact paper.

-Plastic Box Storage

When using plastic containers for storage, such as the Rubbermaid items, etc. Buy the kind that will stack well. Avoid boxes that slid.

In between each level put a thin wooden board to keep them level, and more steady.

You can wrap with material to hide the boxes and use as end tables, coffee tables, etc.

-White Gallon Buckets

I have little room but wanted food storage.  The items I put in the white 5 gallon buckets (flour. sugar. beans etc.)  I bought the cute round table cloths and a lace topper and made a cute decorative table, I put the buckets three high covered the buckets and put a phone on it in the hall between my daughter's rooms and it is really cute and hides my  food storage.
