Candles can create a sense of warmth, drama, or romance depending on how you choose to use them.  Your options for decorating with candles are limited only by your imagination.  However, you do want to use caution when using candles to reduce the risk of fire.

Colonial refers to the 1600s to the 1800s. This is the time America was first being settled, and ideas on how to create a unique style were being developed. Much of the colonial influence was taken from 17th century English architecture. Your bedroom should be a special place. This is the place where you go to rest and a place you and your husband go for alone time.  The bed is not for laundry or changing diapers on.  You shouldn't have to look at laundry baskets on the floor, bills on the dresser or desk, or a screeching television. 

I had my older kids provide the hands and feet for hand prints and footprints around the doors, window, and along the baseboard in red, blue, yellow, and green.  Then I spatter painted the doors of the changing table (actually an old microwave cart) and the fan blades to match the spatter print on the dresser we have.
