Grandpa Crafts

Noodle Jewelry

What Mom, Grandma or child would not want to make one of these oldies but goodies?  As a child I loved making them and they did not cost a lot.

Supplies:

    *      Rubbing alcohol (So Moms, Dads and Grandparents need to help)

    *      Food coloring

    *      Uncooked pasta ( wheels, rings, rigatoni or anything that will string well)

    *      Un varnished wooden beads if you would like or just do noodles

    *      Thin plastic cording or Yarn will do

To make each color of dye ask the adult to help you mix 1 cup rubbing alcohol with several drops of food coloring in a bowl. Add uncooked pasta and wooden beads to the color mixture of your choose.

Allow pasta and beads to remain in the mixture until the desired color is reached.  Drain and spread the pasta and beads on paper towels to dry

String the pasta and beads onto the cord or yarn and tie ends together. securely in a bow or a square knot.  Let your imagination go wild and make something that says "you"!

Before making this project make some Yummy Hot Maple Drink to sip on while you are waiting for the Noodles to dry.
