ABC's of Helping Your Child In School

Just Remember your ABC's to help your child in school this year...

 

A- Ask your child about school each day.

B- Bedtime is important.  Make sure your child gets enough sleep.

C- Choose activities your child will like. Leave time for play.

D- Do things together. Car time is a great time for talking.

E- Eat together as a family as often as you can.

F- Find a quiet place for your child to study.

G- Get to know your child's teacher.

H- Homework helps kids learn.  Set a regular study time.

I- Involve your child in making decisions when you can.

J- Join your school's parent-teacher organization.

K- Know the school's rules.  Your child should know them too.

L- Libraries are free. Visit your library often.

M- Make some special time to spend with your child.

N- Notice and discuss any changes in your child's behavior.

O- Organization saves time.  Have a place for school supplies.

P- Play games together.

Q- Questions help children learn.  Help them find the answers.

R- Read with your child.

S- Share a hobby or interest with your child.

T- Turn off the TV

U- Urge your child to do his best in school.

V- Volunteer to help with at least one school activity.

W- Work near your child when he is doing homework.

X- X-tra hugs are a great way to say "I love you."

Y- Yield good results by praising your child.

Z- Zoom through these ideas one more time!
