I have to say that my family was in complete shambles until a few months ago.  Not to say that it is in complete uniform order right now, but it is working out a lot better than it did before.

Typically, a family mission statement would reflect the thoughts and ideas of everyone in the family with each person who is old enough contributing to its formation. We tend to support ideas better when we "own" them....

How many times have we met or know of people who are slovenly, lazy, or who do not work hard?  For these people it shows in their homes as well as in the lives they lead.  My father has always been a hard working man.  He was raised on a 2,000 acre ranch which always had hard work in the natural elements, and ....

Today I would like to share ideas about ordering your family's emotional life so conflict is eliminated (or at least reduced) and challenges are worked through without hitting.

Having a house of order is not the easiest goal to attain when raising a large family and homeschooling on top of it all.   We are coming up on our one year anniversary of homeschooling.  After much stress, some successes and failures, I feel I can now share with you ideas in these areas that have been successful. 

My parents had no problem finding my eight siblings and I chores to do.  We grew up on a large working farm and there was no question we would have daily work to do.  Farm animals needed feeding, the cows had to be milked,  fields tilled, planted and harvested.

I have discovered two things about my family.  One, that they do better if we do our scripture study in the morning and two, they eat better if they don’t eat right after they wake up.  We do our scripture study first thing in the morning then eat breakfast.
