Materials needed:
For the I am a child of God sign with child's name in background: 6x18" wood. I use #2 pine. It's available at Home Depot or Lowe's. They cut your wood for free!

For the Families are Forever sign, with family last name in background, and also the Family name and year established: 6x24" wood

For the xoxo blocks: buy a 2x4 piece of wood. Have it cut down to four 3.5" pieces.

For the FHE board:
You'll need 8x24" sized wood. Also, wooden stars or hearts, nails, (you can use horse shoe nails, regular nails, or upholstery pins) and thin ribbon, thin craft wire or twine to hang tags with.
Additional Supplies needed for each project include:
paint (craft paint, that can be purchased in small bottles in any store craft section)
customized lettering (vinyl lettering, available at Wall Words By Design )
sawtooth hanger
sand paper
Instructions For All Projects:
1. Wipe your wood with a clean damp cloth. 2. Paint your wood on the smoothest side. Let dry, and give it another coat of paint. 3. Apply your lettering.
Vinyl Application Instructions
Carefully peel the tape and vinyl lettering away from the stiff paper backing, hold the vinyl in position, then press and stick.
Rub the entire area firmly from one side to the other with your fingertips or the sharp edge of a credit card. The vinyl has a pressure sensitive adhesive and the harder you rub the harder it sticks. Remove the application tape by pulling gently in a downward position.
4. Sand edges of wood for a country distressed look. (optional)
5. Attach sawtooth hanger on back.
6. Spray sign with matte finish spray. (this is optional)
7. You're done! Enjoy your creation!
